Steppenwolf was once the military commander of Apokolips and uncle to the great Darkseid. His love of the hunt led to his demotion. Steppenwolf's weapon of choice is an electric axe.
Duel of the Double Crossers![]
Through some twist of events, Steppenwolf was recruited by Mongal to fight on War World. He quickly became the undisputed champion and developed arrogance toward any challengers. After Jonah Hex disarmed him, Steppenwolf fought Batman in hand to hand combat. Batman was victorious and defeated Steppenwolf.
Death Race to Oblivion![]
Steppenwolf, rides as Mongul's champion in the Death Race. He rides a heavily armed War Machine. Eventually, Batman takes him down with a bait and switch tactic with the help of Huntress. Steppenwolf is then shot by Mongul who says that he is now his 'ex champion'. It is not known if this blast killed him, although considering Steppenwolf's resilience it is unlikely.
Personality and Traits[]
Steppenwolf was power-mad. Having been raised on Apokolips, he probably considered himself superior to most life forms. In battle, he preferred to charge straight in and use brute force to take down his opponents.
Powers and Abilities[]
Steppenwolf is an immortal with superhuman strength, speed, endurance and reflexes. He is a highly talented military leader. He has served as the head of Apokolips' armed forces, and when going into battle personally often commands units of the dog cavalry, warriors riding enormous for the carnage and mass deaths he causes when he leads forces in battle. Steppenwolf wields various weapons, including a cable-snare in which he can entrap an opponent, and from which he can fire lethal radion beams. His main weapon is his electro-axe. He is a master swordsman and a formidable hand to hand combatant. He was able to fight evenly with Batman would is also a formidable hand to hand combatant in his own right and was ultimately defeated.
