History
Origin
Dr. Charles Langley constructed a giant sentient robot powered by a miniature nuclear reactor for the American government. Langley declared the robot to be called "Mr. Atom." Langley made a fatal miscalculation and triggered an explosion that brought Mr. Atom online but he was also born evil. Mr. Atom decided he should rule the world and rampaged in Washington D.C. until he was defeated by Captain Marvel. Mr. Atom was imprisoned underground in a special lead-lined cell to neutralize his powers. But soon enough he was freed by would be allies.
