History[]

Several years ago, a group of aliens from the planet Appellax had chosen Earth as a battlefield for their war to decide who would rule Appellax. They would have succeeded in turning humans into their armies had it not been for the combined powers and skills of Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Superman, Batman, and the Flash. While Superman and Batman couldn't accept full membership at the time, the other five heroes decided to band together, and form a new team to battle the forces of evil. And on that day, the Justice League was born!

They came after the Justice Society of America went into semi-retirement. They inhabit two bases, one in space called the Justice League Watchtower and the second on Earth called the Hall of Justice. The latest member of the League is Plastic Man. Although there was contention of his membership, Batman vouched for Plastic Man. Twelve members met at the Watchtower after it was discovered Shadow Thief manipulated a meteor into a collision course with Earth. Also present were sidekicks, Robin, Aqualad, and Speedy.

They once participated in a baseball game against the Legion of Doom. Down by three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Batman scored the winning grand slam. In the 21st century, Plastic Man was ejected from the League and some time after was disbanded.

Years later the team broke up due to a set of unknown circumstances. The watchtower was abandoned and the heroes went their separate ways. Eventually Batman, the Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman would return to form a new league, the JLI or the Justice League International.
