Dala is a vampire who was infected by an affiliation synthesized in a laboratory. Luckily, she manifested the same distinct energy signature a standard vampire emitted. Batman and Jason Blood chased after her to a topiary garden in Gotham City. During the capture, Batman was bitten and eventually made to believe he turned into a vampire. Blood transformed into Etrigan and defeated Dala. While Batman left to stop a robbery, Etrigan began on creating a cure for Dala.
