Origin
A master contortionist decided to use his power to steal and adopted the costumed identity of Copperhead. His first theft was in Gotham City. Disguised as an old man, he stole the tiara from a dignitary visiting Gotham. Although Copperhead escaped Batman, he was later caught by Batman, Batgirl, and Wonder Woman.
Copperhead remained a thief. While on a diamond heist, he was defeated by Green Arrow. On another occasion, he was mind-controlled by the Music Meister along with many other villains to sing his song "Drives Us Bats". He was also one of the villains defeated by the trio of Robin, Aqualad and Speedy during their training. When Batman installed his Bat-Probe in Gotham City, Copperhead was one of the criminals caught by it, stealing diamonds again. He was soon handcuffed by Batman and arrested.
