History
Atop Gotham City Police Department Headquarters, a Klieg searchlight was modified, at the orders of Commissioner Gordon, with the symbol of Batman and used during a high profile cases that warranted Batman's assistance. It also has the extra benefit of striking fear into the hearts of criminals as it shines in the Gotham sky. It has been in use for over a decade, since the partnership of Batman and Robin.
